Africa Compliance Data

Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Africa Compliance Data API, MCP server and website (the "Service"), provided by Ingot Supply, LLC ("we", "us"). By using the Service or an API key, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

The Service provides reference data about African public holidays, business days, VAT, withholding tax, tax identification number formats and tax filing deadlines, compiled from official sources and delivered through an API and an MCP server.

2. Accounts, keys and billing

API keys are issued through our merchant of record, Polar (polar.sh), which processes payments, sales tax and VAT, invoices and subscriptions under its own terms. Keep your key confidential; you are responsible for use of your key. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled from the Polar customer portal; on cancellation your key remains valid until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled through Polar under its refund policy.

3. Acceptable use

3a. Bulk access protection

To protect the dataset, the Service watches for bulk access. A key that reads an unusually large part of the dataset (for example full profiles or tax data for many countries in one day) is paused automatically and its requests are refused until we review it. If your use is legitimate, contact us and we will restore the key, usually within one business day. If you need the whole dataset, ask about a data licence. API answers carry an identifier that lets us trace copies of the data to the key that retrieved them.

3b. Ownership of the dataset

The underlying laws and official announcements are public. The Service's selection, structure, normalisation, computed calendars, verification metadata and arrangement of that information are our work and are protected as a compilation and as a database to the extent allowed by applicable law. Except for the use allowed by your plan, no rights in the dataset are granted to you.

4. Data accuracy: not legal or tax advice

We compile data from official sources (statutes, official gazettes, tax authorities and government announcements) and show the source, legal basis, effective date and last-verified date for each value. Laws change, official announcements can be late or inconsistent, and some values are marked as estimated, partial or of medium or low confidence. The Service is reference information only and is not legal, tax or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying information against the cited official source before relying on it, and for your compliance decisions.

5. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service unless agreed in writing. We may change or improve the Service; we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce functionality for paid plans.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including penalties, interest or lost profits resulting from reliance on the data.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate keys that breach these terms, including keys paused under section 3a that we find were used for bulk copying.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
